Free Review of Any Third-Party Valuation

If someone has already handed you a number for your business, the smartest $0 you can spend is finding out whether that number survives scrutiny.

Maybe a CPA prepared it for a tax matter. Maybe a broker produced it to win your listing. Maybe an online calculator spit it out in ninety seconds. Whatever the source, you’re about to make one of the largest financial decisions of your life based on it. Before you do, a certified business appraiser will read it, test its methods and assumptions, and tell you plainly where it stands.

What the review covers

I examine the valuation approaches used (asset, income, and market), the quality of the financial data behind them, the reasonableness of the multiples or discount rates applied, and whether the conclusion fits what buyers in today’s market actually pay. You get a candid verbal walkthrough of what’s solid, what’s questionable, and what it means for your plans.

Why free?

Because a bad valuation costs owners real money in both directions. Overpriced businesses sit unsold for years. Underpriced businesses hand your retirement to a stranger. Most reviews confirm some parts and challenge others, and owners tell me the conversation alone changed how they approached their sale. If the review reveals you need a defensible number, we’ll talk about a certified valuation. If your existing report holds up, I’ll tell you that too, and you’ve lost nothing.

A deliberate choice: we don’t sell “broker opinions”

Many brokerages sell cheap opinion-of-value reports. We don’t. The work behind a credible number is nearly identical to a formal appraisal, so we’d rather review what you have at no charge and reserve our paid work for certified valuations that can stand behind a sale, a loan, or the IRS.

Common questions

What do I need to send you?

The valuation report itself. If you have the underlying financials, even better, but the report alone is enough to start.

Does the age of the valuation matter?

Yes. We review valuations no more than 12 months old. Past that, the financial picture has usually moved enough that the report needs redoing rather than reviewing, and no lender will rely on it anyway.

Is this confidential?

Completely. Your report and your plans stay between us, before any engagement is signed.

How long does it take?

Most reviews are back to you within a few business days.
